We’re excited to be working with Sport Relief again this year, providing a mobile donation option for their donors. Sport Relief is a biennial charity event which brings together sport and entertainment, raising money to help people in the UK and across the world live happier, healthier, safer lives.
A number of sporting events, many involving celebrities, take place in the run-up to a live broadcast on BBC One.
This is the fourth year that we’ve worked with the charity and we’re ready to help raise a record-breaking amount once again.
Fonix processes the SMS donations sent to the charity, which allows consumers to donate either £5, £10 or £20. It also gives them the option to add a Gift Aid contribution from the UK government, taking just a few seconds.
This year, for the first time, text-to-donate will be promoted all night on the main night. This proves just how important mobile donations are to the charity, and how willing the public are to give to charity via mobile.
We believe that whether it’s paying for a service, a competition entry or a charity, consumers should have the choice to pay in the way that’s most convenient to them. In an increasingly digital society, it comes as no surprise that many prefer to pay via SMS.
The Sport Relief night of TV show will air on Friday 23 March from 7pm.
