Job Specification:

As a Product Owner at Fonix you will be working closely with Development and UX Design in order to build and deliver the technical roadmap, as well as gathering Internal and External stakeholder requests and mould these requests into technical requirements.

Day to day you will participate in the full Agile software development lifecycle, participating in Agile ceremonies and representing the business stakeholders within technology. You will be expected to gain a keen understanding of what your stakeholders want, and how to balance their varied requirements, so that the Development team can come to you as a single point of contact for what work should be prioritised and how new features should function.

To be considered for this role you should have a proven background as a Product Owner with knowledge of Agile practices and Scrum development processes.


Objective of the role:

This role is for an experienced Product Owner and will report to our Operations & Delivery Director.


  • Gain a deep understanding of the customer experience, identify product gaps and generate new ideas that improve the product
  • Create buy-in for the product vision both internally and with key external customers
  • Translate product strategy into Agile requirements for the Technology team
  • Manage two established products and one future strategic product
  • Scope and prioritize releases based on business and customer needs
  • Act as a product evangelist to build awareness and understanding
  • Represent the company by visiting customers to solicit feedback on our products and services
  • Maintain short-term and long-term product roadmaps and communicate these regularly to senior managers

Essential Experience:

  • 3+ years’ experience in product management
  • Proven track record of owning all aspects of a successful software product throughout its lifecycle
  • Proven ability to develop product roadmaps and effectively communicate recommendations to executive management
  • Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in Agile and/or Lean software development
  • Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to roll up one’s sleeves to get the job done
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Extensive experience using JIRA for creating new issues, maintaining the product backlog and product delivery


Desirable Experience:

  • MS/BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or similar
  • Agile Product Owner training
  • Experience within Telecoms and/or Payments industries
