Soccer Aid for UNICEF 2024: a Star-Studded Charity Football Match for a Special Cause
Soccer Aid for UNICEF 2024 once again brought together celebrities and football legends for a spectacular match, all with the aim to raise money for UNICEF’s mission: to help give children around the world happy, healthy, and play-filled childhoods. This year’s event, held at the iconic Stamford Bridge, was nothing short of extraordinary. Fans were treated to an electric atmosphere due to thrilling moments on the pitch and some fantastic performances. The atmosphere brought a sense of unity as everyone came together to support UNICEF’s vital work for children around the world.
Over £15 million was raised on the night – taking the overall figure since the first Soccer Aid match (2006) to over £106m! The match saw England win 6-3 against Soccer Aid World XI, the first time England have won since 2018.
Fonix: Managing Donations for Soccer Aid for UNICEF 2024
Fonix is incredibly proud to have once again partnered with Soccer Aid for UNICEF to manage various donation mechanics and reporting for this year’s campaign.
The campaign has come a long way since Fonix started working with the team in 2018. From an initial simple text donation service, Fonix now provides operational project management, multiple SMS donation price points, a Text-to-Win donation competition, a multi-donation channel Totaliser to ensure all donations, including match-funding, are reported accurately and for the first time this year, all online donations.
The online donations platform allowed the audience to donate via card and PayPal, and as a first for Soccer Aid also via Apple Pay and Google Pay.
